It's smoking -

Post  Atlas on Mon Mar 04, 2013 12:34 am

In November of this year I will have been smoking for sixty years. In that time I have consumed (inhaled) apporox half a million cigarettes which have, at a mean average allowing for inflation and taxes, cost me approx £62,000. Given that in the next sixty years, if the law allows, an average addicited smoker will consume the same number and given inflationary prices of a similar ilk that cost will have risen to almost £150,000 what better incentive to give your kids than to ask - what would they do with £150,000 and which would they rather have? Just a thought. Wink Very Happy affraid

Yes indeed. And I didn't calculate the amount of 'tax' the government has had off me from that £62,000. Looking at the way things are going perhaps the question to the kids should be - which would you prefer to do - pay the government £123,000 in extra tax before you retire or - buy yourself a house without having to worry about a morgage? - Blows the mind doesn't it - as well as rot the lungs. affraid
