And Then There Were 9!
As seen on Twitter:
Shocked to read this on Twitter. Anyone know what's going on?

Have heard the Rochdale Cabinet is down to 9. You may think this is a saving initiative? No, hard working Terry Linden has been fired! Why?

Re: And Then There Were 9!
Terry is one of the hardest working councillors in Rochdale. Sparks and I worked very closely with him on 'Chill-Out'. I hope that someone with a similar drive and determination gets to head the Strategic Homelessness Review.
Very sad to see him go. Did he fall or was he pushed?

Bitterly disappointed with this news, Hinch.
As you say, Terry was hardworking, down to earth and productive. Could explain why he no longer fits in?

Re: And Then There Were 9!
A fall guy maybe
It's surprising just how quickly the council's officers can act at certain times:
Terry Linden has already been removed from the "Cabinet" list on the rochdale.gov information site.
It seems Cllr Shah Wazir, a representative of the same Milkstone and Deeplish Ward as Terry Linden, still hasn't notified his new Labour allegiances. He remains shown on line as a Conservative.
Did I miss a boomerang.

Now keener than ever to learn what exactly has been going on here.

Be fair MJH. He changes party that often it's hardly worth their while changing it!

I hope you manage it Hinch. Would be interesting. Even better if Jeanie was to make a comeback and got elected again.

Same applies to all the Lib Dems who went and threw a hissy fit and then tried to get their own party off the ground. But got soundly thrashed at the ballot box. And rightly so.
Personally I (and others for that matter I am willingly to bet) think Jeanie lost her seat due to a protest vote against agaist the antics of the Lib Dems both locally and nationally.

Re: And Then There Were 9!
I wonder if the council leader will release a reason or statement to the electorate, after tonight's 'reduced number' Cabinet meeting
