Asda welfare cards: a step too far?

Who picked that particular store...and why?
As the article states, a lot of places have these stores on the outskirts of town and not easily accessible on foot or public transport.

Not her fault Hinch. She is only taking advantage of the system as best suits her purposes. Change the system if you want less abuse. Simples.

Why would anyone borrow money at those obscene rates of interest and then worry about paying it back if things didn't pan out???? What do they think the little 'wonga' scrotes are going to do about it???? Send the 'wonga gang' in???? It's a 'game of numbers'. Providing sufficient borrowers are intimidated enough to make the repayments and the obscene interest rates the game goes on. If sufficient borrowers told them to go 'fly a kite' - they would fold within months. The whole things a bloody con and should be treated as such. Screw them - as much as possible I say.

It seems quite reasonable to partner a major distributor.

I suspect there would have been a greater outcry if Tesco had been used, and they have more high street branches.

From the article it would seem Asda were the only supermarket who were interested in partnering the council with the scheme.

Re Wonga & Con. The fact that people get involved with them in the first place indicates that either they have no idea what they are getting involved in or they are too desperate for it to make any difference.
