Very nice, just slightly over-sharpened.

I am bemused, Cyfrifia, I edit on a top quality calibrated monitor and have been editing photos almost daily for over a decade and they look fine to me. Explain please.

Maybe the computer screen I'm looking at isn't up to that quality, J. The sharpness of the image looks like when I have over-sharpened photos. Again, very nice pics.
I was watching a heron fishing in the stream at Hollingworth, some of the 'still as a statue' poses they get into are remarkable.

Re: Giving me the bird!
You had me worried Cyf :-)
I shoot in RAW so that I can choose how my final image looks rather than an anonymous Japanese programmer and my sharpening process is very detailed and precise employing layers and masks to selectively sharpen and avoid over-sharpening. I would be mortified if I ever over cooked sharpening.

Re: Giving me the bird!
Now Dalelad you should not ask a man questions like, How long he had to wait for his bird? That is a private matter for J.

This is the photo I took of a heron, but, it's not quite as close up.
