Emergency buzzer.

This lady managed to reach the emergency buzzer, but still couldn't get a drink.

Is that what they used to call the 'nurse call button'? Last time I was in hospital, some years ago, when the nurses made the beds, they always carefully tucked the 'nurse call' buzzer away from the bed, hidden behind the curtains, so that the patients couldn't reach it. Do they still do that?

That's not the only time a patient has called the police to get a drink in hospital, there was a 22 year old lad Kane Gorny who died of dehydration in St George's hospital in Tooting in July 2010 he had made the call from his hospital bed.
