They come in 3's

Post  Charly on Sat Jun 15, 2013 7:40 pm

So I'm waiting for the third thing.
Yesterday on the way to pick grandson up from school in that persistent rain, windscreen wipers stopped......that was it, dead.
Checked all the fuses ect ..on no not that simple, motor gone capput, went round several places this morning trying to get someone to look at it, was quoted £89.99 for diagnostic test which was not deductable from completed job price of...wait for it..£376ish. I declined the kind offer of a 25% discount and tried somewhere else who did a FREE diagnostic test and the job completed was £270.

My son goes to his room and turns on his tv, I heard the bang downstairs in the kitchen! Changed the fuse in the plug and threw the switch on consumer unit...no joy, tv dead.

I had the 3rd 'happening' yesterday, decided to go to Manchester with my daughter for her holiday clothes.
As the tram stop is round the corner from her home in Failsworth we thought we would give it a go, after all it would be quicker and more convenient...wouldn't it?
A resounding NO is the answer!
Once on the tram we got as far as 2 stops and had to get off then queue and wait for a replacement bus due to work on the track, had to walk half way across Manchester to where we wanted to be ( and where we had bought the ticket to) then on the return journey it was a longer wait for the crowded bus then swap over again to wait for the tram for the last 2 stops.
Good job we've got a sense of humour ...I expected someone from one of these programmes where they play pranks on members of the public to jump out on us.
Don't think I'll be using the tram again in a rush.

So I'm hoping that was number 3

I think a delayed tram rates very low on the disaster scale.

You are setting the bar way too low.

the tram engineering works were planned and advertised.  just like when the motorways and railways  are closed for engineering works on a Sunday.
