Drunken pilot, different rules ?
Dealing with a case of a Pakistani pilot who was three times over the limit, after drinking whisky, the judge at Leeds Crown Court was surprised that rules about drinking and flying is different for Pakistan. They don't go by blood alcohol levels, you just have to leave a 12 hour gap between drinking and flying a passenger jet.
Mr Justice Coulson was "astonished" to hear that pilots regularly flying out of the UK were not aware of the rules in this country, which are based on the amount of alcohol present in the body.
The pilot was probably quite surprised to be sent to jail.
Surprises all round and an educational day in court then.
