Cllr Ahmed fracas?

Just seen over on Manchester Evening News website that Cllr Ahmed has been involved in an alleged incident of homophobic abuse towards Cllr Emmott on Cheetham Street Rochdale on Thursday Afternoon last Week. With further details that there is a witness to this incident, which took place near Mr Danczuk's office in Rochdale where Cllr Emmott works.
It further references a story that was pulled on RO last week, over an alleged email to Mr Danczuk MP and his views on the Asian Community's alleged continued denial over Rochdale-organised child abuse.

Very interesting Chill. Cllr Ahmed is no fan of Mr Danczuk I believe.

HIM: Suspended from party after allegations of cannabis use. (No action taken)
HER: Disastrous chairing of Planning Committee as seen on national TV.
HIM: New allegations of street brawling and homophobic abuse.
HER: Blooper on her election address promising to make Rochdale a 'thieving borough".
A fine example to our youth. Still, they're both sharp dressers.

The resulting public dismay was less than a year ago but, under the inimitable Council Leadership of Colin Lambert, she was then selected as the Chair of Rochdale Township Action and Resources Committee, and appointed as a Deputy Cabinet Member for Place & Regulation ! Why is our press being so lily-livered. Did it happen or didn't it? I suspect pressures have been brought to bear.

In truth, there is not much of a story. It seems that this is here simply to provide an opportunity to rake over previous unproven allegations.
What it DOES is show the vast divide between Rochdale Constituency Labour Party and Rochdale Metropolitan Council Labour Group.

A court date hadn’t been set at that time; he was expected to appear before magistrates in the following few weeks to face allegations of a public order offence.

Some people get into a line of business, be it politics, property management, banking, ticket sales, or conducting marriages, develop a good grasp of the system and how it works, it's weaknesses, loopholes and scamming opportunities, play the system and make a mockery of it. It's an aspect of human nature to take the mickey at other people's expense. Some wouldn't behave that way because they don't think that way, other do. Those who set up systems need to organise them better, not so much to be foolproof as to be robust against the well informed or well connected chancer. Not that this is necessarily happening in this case, but it makes you wonder, that sort of stuff goes on a lot.

In Rochdale, the council's Deputy Mayor and finance chief Farooq Ahmed will appear before magistrates this week to answer a summons for a public order offence.
There would seem to be benefit, to try and re-build some political transparency and trust agenda in Rochdale, if basic factual information about local senior public figures was released locally - rather than coming into the public domain like 'a side dish' from regional / other media sources. 
It would likely stop some un-necessary speculation and go a little way towards restoring a belief that politicians, moreover, have accountability as well to their Party colleagues and, importantly, to the public of the borough.

The price of fish, or of a pint of beer are traditional stating points for a discussion bewailing the state of the nation or putting the world to rights.
For such discussions to go anywhere useful, clear facts and information are needed, and you rightly bewail the lack of transparency, trust and basic factual information in local politics.
People like to express an opinion based on what they understand in the absence of such clear information. I think there is a general sense of incompetence of regulation and absence of responsibility in most aspects of what people have to deal with in life, from buying a 'beef' sandwich through to political process. Scammery and misinformation has developed into an established culture, it's usually the honest and well meaning taking the damage and paying the price.
It is tiresome being careful all the time of what can be trusted, a situation that wants sorting out. Your idea that politicians should be accountable to the public would be as good a starting point as any.
