Ganja to go...
I was pulled up at the lights on Kingsway on Wednesday, puffing on my pipe with the window down. Two Asian youths pulled up alongside me and offered to sell me some ganja to put in my trusty briar. How enterprising!
Had this been the 1960's, a more youthful Hinch may well have been up for it but I now prefer a pipe of Sweet Killarney to anything more neurologically and pharmacologically testing.

There is a lot of counterfeit tobacco being sold now.

Some of it mixed with pretty nasty chemicals.

The whole of Rochdale has a green haze over it at night. I for one can't stand that sickly sweet whiff

I used to enjoy the odd spiff in the 60's and 70's at parties etc. Was never a serious pothead though and then it was far less toxic than the skunk they use nowadays.
First time I tried it, me and my mate bought a 50p wrap in The Masque and smoked it in a stairwell in College Bank flats.
I packed it in completely before I started nursing. Had my last one at the free 'Queen' concert in Hyde Park in 1976.
I always thought cannabis was harmless till I started psychi and saw cannabis-induced psychosis for the first time. A total horror.

Was that whilst Mike Carr still owned it or after?
Harmless!! Not at all. Boils the brain. Makes useless tools from all regular participants. I know. Believe me.

Sadly, many of my old mates got into the hard stuff and it all ended in tears.
Yes Atlas, Mike did own it. Drug dealing was not obvious there but there were always obliging faces. Some hard dealing was done later by some of them. It kept the Drug Squad based in Oldham busy though one heard persistent rumours of blind eyes being turned and money changing hands.
The dealers used to go into Manchester for their week's supply.
No doorstep deliveries then.

These illegal cigarettes came from Vietnam. Counterfeit tobacco from the far east often contains dangerous chemicals, hope that's been checked out by a competent chemist before they burn it.
