He has been out the last two days at the crack of dawn and shoveled snow away from 6 of the 12 properties on our row and then gone further along to make a point of shifting the snow from outside an 87 yrs old neighbour's home. Lovely man!
He is a lovely man we are long time friends and out of the blue this afternoon my grandson said Grandma there is a guy in the garden shifting snow I looked out my window and he was clearing our path with the biggest home-made shovel bless him !
After a brew biscuits he set of home and got stuck himself in the snow on our street his huge shovel soon got him out of it
He is a lovely person with a heart of gold xxx
Then tonight I saw the funniest site ever a guy (well worst for wear) after a few drinks tried walking up our street he clung on to every car parked but fell as soon as he reached them mind you I was worried at one stage as he fell into the road a car came up and just drove round him! What a state he must have been in when he hopefully finally got home

So lets change the law so that casual payments less than 16 hours are disregarded.
It would save more than it costs in administration and give opportunity to improve one's lot.

Many of these sort of arrangements cost more to administer than they save. The poll tax cost a lot more than it collected, maybe the council tax collection these days is more efficient? The amount of money wasted on administrative computer systems that don't work and have to be replaced is astronomical. Politicians seem to prioritise taxing and controlling the general public, whatever it costs. Similar arrangements with defence procurement, billions wasted, and troops with leaky boots. Maybe it could all be simplified into one 'gravy tax' to keep the gravy train running.

I agree John, but if all earnings below 16 hours were disregarded that in itself would bring problems
