MY Avatar.

Does anyone else think that my Avatar is "disgusting incitement to violence"? Or do most just see at as a humorous picture, clearly meant as a joke and not to be taken seriously?

Given that it portrays a 'male pensioner' handling a machine-gun and using expletives may tend towards the younger end thinking that we (of a certain age) are all gun-totting lunatics with no useful knowledge of the English language. It certainly isn't in good taste (not that that really bothers me - freedom of speech and all that) but I do think you could have come up with something a little less 'violent' in nature which could have displayed the same 'disdain' you obviously have for others not of your particular political persuasion and leanings.

Is that fair enough?

Maybe so. Though there are many people not in any political party who dislike the Tories, as there are many who dislike all political parties.

I don't think it is offensive quite funny really !

I have no problem with it.

Expresses your views, not as offensive as some I have seen, but I personally wouldnt use it.

It was not meant to offensive. Might be better if it didn't contain swear words.

I don't find it at all offensive, and it certainly wouldn't encourage me to be violent.

As far as I am aware no forum member has complained to admin about Up The Dale's avatar. OK, it might not be politically correct but is anyone truly offended by it?

Not really keen on a gun-toting person UTD, but that's where our different impressions come in ... I expect.

The Avatar I don't like is the Admins! I was always told it is rude to point and stab ones finger(s) at someone else and that stern look of authorative aggression seems a bit much. Still, Admin's 'alleged' senses of humour cover the sketch.

Mojo I think the reason that a certain poster attacked my avatar as being disgusting was personal. I don't know them, but they probably know me.
