How did that happen?
Just called in Asda to get some petrol, not wanting to fill right up (financial constraints this week)I was very careful to only get £30 worth so edged the trigger bit by bit till I reached £30.
As I put the hose back and it clicked in to place, the price also clicked up another 2p!
The hose was stretched when I stopped filling as the pump was on opposite side of the car to the filler cap, so it cant be because the hose had some petrol still in as I made sure it had finished .
If this happens to everyone who goes through the petrol station in a day thats a hefty amount of 2p's, where does it go to?

It goes (in petrol form) to the next person to use the pump. She might be a little old lady living on the very edge of deprivation charly. Just think how grateful she would be. On the other hand it could be some flash well heeled scrote from off Bamford. He will be grateful too. It's pot luck petal.

I notice it all too often, it's not so bad when you still have the hose in your hand you think 'oh well, maybe I put a little pressure on the trigger' but when you KNOW you have put the hose back in the cradle and it STILL clocks up more money is when it gets me mad.

And it's always only one/two pences worth. Must be the amount of fuel it takes to fill the hose/pipes in the delivery gun.

Is there a chance then for most 1 or 2ps worth you lose you will gain again on other visits to the petrol station? Indeed when you lose at the end of the filling up you might have gained at the beginning of the filling up.
Under sods law though, you will lose out and the well off person will gain usually.

Got to say this has never happened to me. I've never known the price creep up when I've stopped filling up. May be because I'm not on the minimum wage and work in management, I guess...
