Over the moon

At 12-15 pm today weighing 8lbs 2ozs my son and daughter in law have had their first baby a boy and our first grandchild. Over the moon, estatic bursting with pride words just dont express the joy we all feel.

I am the Grandma but Grandad is just as happy as me. Just come from the hospital, Mummy and Daddy are estatic and have every reason to be so My Grandson is perfection. Thanks for all your good wishes.

Good news!
Its great being a grandma (or manmar as Archie calls me) I took him home to his mum and dad earlier, they had been having new windows installed so although a (almost) 2 year old would have been very 'helpful' to the workmen it was thought best if he came up to see auntie and then for grandma to take him home when the coast was clear.
I've got nearly 18 years experience in the job of grandma to one, nearly 11 years as grandma to 2 and coming up 2 years as grandma to 3.

Thats a nice combination, Vincent is one of my daughters favourites, her little boy is called Archie Benjamin, I'm glad she didn't choose one of the new fangled designer baby names.
Thats just reminded me of a funny story from when my first grandson was born, I went to tell my mum who was 86 at the time that he had arrived, when she asked his name and I said Kane she said 'I dont like these new fangled names!' I said 'Adam, Eve, Cain...'

A grandson? When we chewed a chop together in The Marble t'other week you didn't even look old enough to be married!
Great news K. Many congrats to you and D from me and Mrs H. Our two grandkids have given us real joy over the years... plus cost us a few bob. When the eldest was born, I thought I had life pretty well sussed but I learned a lot about myself over the next few years and that I had far more to give than I thought I had.
Must get together before Crimbo. Send us a piccie via email.
