Sheep slaughtered !
I despair, what is happening within our society?! Is it that people are jobless, desperate and hungry or, just plain greedy with an 'owt for nowt' mentality?

Re: Sheep slaughtered
Words do fail on this one. The only possible response is for everyone, Police and public, everyone in farming, butchery, catering trades, anyone with local knowledge or suspicions to do everything needed to catch the people who did this.
The Police have priorities to deal with, but this one has to go straight to high priority, to butcher the legs off sheep while they are alive demonstrates a level of psychopathic cruelty and intent that makes these extremely dangerous people.

Re: Sheep slaughtered
Sounds like a real psycho is on the loose.
If he was after their meat, it would have been far simpler to slit their throats and disjoint them rather than try to do it on a wriggling, terrified animal.
They must have been in agony.
I really do hope they catch these bastards and throw away the key.

Thats what I thought Hinch, why not just steal the whole sheep instead of cutting it up like that?

Re: Sheep slaughtered
Sometimes I really do wonder if human beings really are the best species to be custodians of our planet. Hopefully, at least in evolutionary terms, our tenure in this role will be brief and something more superior and humane will shortly replace us when we have screwed it up totally.
Am not a veggie and never will be but it frightens me to think what sort of people we are likely to rub shoulders with on the famous Clapham omnibus.

Re: Sheep slaughtered
Not much in it really, Hinch, if you are looking for better custodians. Other animals eat animals whilst they are alive, or pull them limb from limb, or do all manner of horrific things. I bet most animals end up in another animals belly.
This is sickening though

Re: Sheep slaughtered
Animals kill for food, to defend territory or to assert mating rights. It is imprinted and instinctive.
This attack seems to have been carried out soley for the perverse pleasure of torturing and maiming DL.
Not really 'normal' animal behaviour as I understand it but I'll check with David Attenborough.

Absolutely Hinch.
Disgusting act by disgusting people. Similar to the bastards that slice the horns off Rhino when still alive, leaving them to die a long, painful death.

Animal abusers very often become child abusers and or violent towards humans, if not already.

A thousand pounds reward

"The government says it cannot ban it under EU law."
"its hands might be tied by a legal case"
"refused to say where the animals had travelled from"
"It's the captain's discretion whether he sails or not."

Every excuse and no common sense.

This government would probably not ban it anyway, basically the government are using the excuse of the EU to allow it to carry on. This government has actually according to animal welfare organisations relaxed a lot of rules on all sorts of animal welfare issues, in response to demands/requests from hunters, farmers, countryside alliance etc
The only thing known about the sheep is they came from mainland UK.
It is sickening, similar to the campaign by Australian campaigners trying to stop live exports of sheep.
I believe that all exports/imports of live animals should be stopped in the world, except when the animal is being moved to better living conditions from captivity.
