Yet another celebrity

Andrew Lancel has been charged with historical child sex offences. He portrayed Frank Foster at Underworld in Coronation St, and DI Neil Manson in The Bill. Looks like a lot of celebrities are under investigation now, would that be because of the Jimmy Saville investigation?

Never heard of him. The world 'celebrity' is probably unjustified. "Bit part actor" fits the bill better.

If you watch telly, you would probably recognise his face. He is a Lancashire lad. His character as Frank Foster groped Maria on Coronation Street, and raped Carla. He is playing Brian Epstein in a play at Liverpool, quite a good actor really. As the detective inspector in the Bill, he always seemed rather inscrutable. Looks like the police are now trawling through TV celebrities, or actors if you prefer.

Yes, the forum is being taken over by child-abuse threads. I know that it is all highly topical at the moment but can we please try to use the existing threads unless there is a good reason not to?

I get a vision of the entire front page listing only threads with an abuse connection if we're not careful! Not good for my digestion.

'Another celebrity ' is a fairly neutral heading, and might come in useful for tidying up the next few celebrities to be investigated.

Apart from Andrew Lancel being a Lancashire lad, it may not be of interest, the thread could be deleted if surplus to requirements.
