Motorway maniacs.

What sort of people would be literally racing their BMW cars with each other at speeds around 140 m.p.h. on the M1 motorway near London, in rain, at 2.30 in the morning? The BMW series seven smashed into the BMW series five, which had hit a motorway bridge, causing a scene of devastation described as 'like a plane crash'.

Four men in a Mercedes, part of the same group, then pulled up at the crash scene, jumped out and started punching the survivors.

Two died, four hospitalised, four fire engines and six ambulances arrived. Mayhem.

Whatever sort of maniacs these are, and it sounds like a drug dealers convention, they have no respect for human life. The crash isn't local, but, driving on motorways is something a lot of people will have to do over Christmas. People who drive like that should be hung from motorway bridges as a festive traffic calming measure. ( I may be willing to reconsider that bit).

The police think both cars separately were out of control, hardly surprising at 140 mph on a wet motorway.

It 's tempting to assume the drivers or passengers were drug dealers or drugged, simply because of the incredibly stupid driving and the circumstances, but, who knows.
