GMP and Crime Commissioner Public meeting, 18th June

Greater Manchester Police and Crime Commissioner Public Meeting to be held on Tuesday 18th June 2013 in the Great Hall, Rochdale Town Hall, The Esplanade, Rochdale, OL16 1AB.

The meeting will take place from 6.30pm till 9pm and will give you the opportunity to hear about the newly elected Commissioner, Tony Lloyd's plans for the future of policing across Greater Manchester.

There will be the chance to hear from Chief Constable Sir Peter Fahy and members of his senior command team with regards to performance of the Greater Manchester Police across Greater Manchester and on this occasion, specifically, the Rochdale Division.

Anybody going?

I hopefully will be going questions need to be asked regarding" what is happening to Littleborough Police Station now all the officers have been moved to Rochdale" it is only used now for the occasional interview which is ridiculous!

Quite agree, and how are our community police suppose to cover an area from Stansfield to Middleton, don't forget they are on foot! And are there more of them now?

We NEED "Bobbies on the beat" they are one of the best deterrents against crime; seems like we are being thrown to the lions now!

Good luck to Tony Lloyd then! I can't imagine he'll please most people with his answers. I guess they'll include references to cutbacks, need for efficiency, working smarter etc etc.

Of course they will be questions relating to this. If there isnt I will be very surprised.

Personally i don't see the point of his role. Judging by the very very low turnout a lot of people agree with me ie not voting.

Lets see how many 'coppers' Mr Lloyds wage would have put on the streets over the period of his tenure in office.

Question. What exactly has Mr Lloyd achieved or contributed to reducing the levels of all crime in the GMP area?

What does he personally contribute to the GMP? What does he ever hope to achieve.

Just a few personal questions that I have.

Heywood Police and PCSOs have to report in at Middleton and then make their own way to Heywood to help the people of Heywood.

They can sometimes cadge a lift in a passing police car or go on the bus but some have had to actually walk into Heywood before they can begin their day's (or night's) work! Then they have to make their own way back to Middleton in order to sign off from their shift.

This means they are missing out on a bare minimum of an hour each shift in policing the streets of Heywood. Where is the logic in this? The police are as annoyed by this as are the residents of the town.

This is the same for the Pennine Police as well Mary Ann it is disgusting !

Ive not seen a PC or PCSO in my area for ages now. I used to see a PCSO- very nice chap as well.
