Can't do a poll so;

1) Is she a bit thick?
2) Does she not know about long lenses?
3) Who cares?
4) I'm buying the magazine!

It must have been a very long lens indeed.

Gross invasion of privacy in my book.

Gross invasion of privacy in my view.

Also the excuse of 'in the public interest' is wearing thin,.

Bit sad when you cant have a little fun on holiday without some Peeping Tom taking photos, I dont know about being paid for them, if there was a prosecution maybe it would make them think twice about invading peoples privacy in this way.

Yes it is very sad. So is the fact that the mag will probably sell more copies than ever thanks to those desperate to see Kate's boobs.
Interesting to (some of) the public is not the same as in the public interest.
I would have thought that she'd have known better though. Mind you, I'd have thought Harry would have know better as well, the other week.

The difference with Harry (normal young chap in my opinion and I dont see a problem) and Kate is that Harry was partying with members of the public in a public place, Kate was in a private residence on private property with her husband.

Post  UP THE DALE Fri Sep 14, 2012 3:07 pm

What is sad to me, is the fact that it is deemed as the most important issue in the news. We have the news of the government bringing in legislation to make it easier to sack people, and those who are proven to be wrongly sacked getting far less compensation, the aftermath of the Hillsborough enquiry, the continuation of severe national economical problems, and yet this news is deemed the most important.

I too think it's sad that such things happen, as far as the invasion of privacy, but sadly this will always be the case for that family and other celebrities who court media exposure.

I worry far more for the poor people who are becoming homeless, losing their lives, losing their jobs etc than a very privileged family who are funded by my taxes.

And NO it's definitely not in the public's interest such "news", especially when it deflects from more important news.

One or tow boobs there Jeanie. Firstly you used the phrase 'to be right' and that 'they had a 'feeling'. I really must protest at such assumptions. To qualify for such one must first have the benefit of a 'moral' compass. This baboon (whomsoever he/she was) obviously failed the interview for inclusion along with the rest of us and subsequently fell amongst the gutter trash where money rules - along with the bankers and politicians and others in this our modern fantastic world. Beggars belief. scratch

They are on a private holiday and you have perverts from the press following you. How long have they let perverts with cameras work in the news world!

As most press photographers are overweight, 50+ men, it makes me wonder what action would have been taken, if the bloke who took the photo had done it to any other young woman.
He would have been arrested and maybe jailed. So why is she any different? Different laws for different folks depending on their choice of occupation/lifestyle? I don't think so.

It's the same for young kids of celebs that constantly are hounded by the press, Suri (Tom Cruise) little girl for instance, she is clearly being affected by the attention she gets from the paps as soon as she steps outside. It shows on her face and body language, it's not healthy.

To quote Mike Harding

"Children starving all over the world, the polar ice caps melting, embassies burning and politicians screwing everybody and Britain is furious about a royal pair of tits - I'm going for a lie down "

The BBC spending the majority of the news about the royal privileged family. First about the pictures, and then when it reports about the attack on Camp Bastardian in Afghanistan, the Beeb are mostly worried about Harry Windsor, rather than the other poor soldiers whose own lives are now in more danger due to the fact that the Taliban are going to try to kill Harry. Really wish we could have an independent broadcaster, who serves the needs of all the population.

I dislike these non news stories re Royal tits, Harry and the rest, but people who marry into the Windsor family will always be targeted by the vultures of the press and media. As for other celebs etc I agree, re their privacy, BUT more often than not they use their children to attract publicity. They could if they really tried keep their families out of the press/media attention, but instead they use their children. Like politicians will say "I am happily married with x number of children" and then go around using the family to help get elected.

Fair enough.

Independent broadcaster? No such thing - ever. Imagine if it was the BBMurdoch?

The BBC attention on Harry Wales is a good thing as far as I am concerned. Anything which helps keep it in the public attention that our lads are out there fighting a dirty bloody war in our name and risking life and limb. We need to remember this at ALL times, not just when they're bringing the bodies home or being turned down for disability.

As for the b@@by pics well my heart goes out to the girl. It was a terrible invasion of privacy.

When I said Independent, I meant that I want the BBC, but I want it to stop being like the House of Windsor's private broadcaster. I want the Beeb to be standing firm in defending the great things of this country like the NHS, Welfare State and state education, and act in the majorities interests. I want it to be independent of the ruling classes and the government. The Beeb

If it wasn't for the story re Kate, the main story then would have been about the threat to our soldiers, but even then they only seamed concerned about Harry. When they deploy a well known person like him, they should not release details of where he is going. He should be deployed and then nothing more should be said, too many of our military are now under far more danger.

Again will say it's wrong to have had those pictures taken, but to me it's all a good thing for the government as it diverts attention away from the government. The Windsor family cannot and should not expect only positive "news" about them. I bet there are loads of people who are complaining about the exposure of Kate who don't mind when it's some celebrity getting exposed.

Sending a royal prince to the front has always demonstrated our commitment to the conflict in general. Remeber Andrew in the Falklands?

I agree with you regarding the NHS etc.

Do you really think it would be any different if there was no House of Windsor? We would be getting the same old tripe but about some awful Blair/Clegg/Cameron clone.

I don't think the main story would have been about the threat to our soldiers. They would probably have come up with some other niff naff and trivia.

I do not think there is a problem with us and the Taliban knowing where Harry is being deployed. If it was known that he was going to be deployed but there was no idea where, the Taliban would have been probing every base out there trying to find out exactly where he was and that would have been putting military lives in danger. This way, Harry is on one of the most secure military bases in the world and the Taliban know he is. His presence there probably makes it safer for the other troops there not the other way around.

Harry's presence will also have a positive effect on the morale of the other lads and lasses serving alongside him. He is popular because he gets on with his job just like anyone else and says it as it is.

Harry had no choice as to the family he was born into just like you or I. Harry (together with William) does a heck of a lot of good, what we hear about in the news is just the tip of it. Criticise "the Royals" for what they do or what they fail to do rather than the fact of their birth which they had no control over.

Class discrimination cuts both ways and it is just as deplorable as any other form of discrimination in my view.

Think we will have to agree to disagree on this one Spartacus. Very difficult for the ruling classes to be discriminated against by the working class-we have no power or influence at all.

Okey dokey UP THE DALE.

Think you're wrong about US not having any influence or say -- we do! The NHS and 99% of what we have today was not handed over on a plate. They were fought for and won by working class people together with others who wanted to see change. We need to remember that and keep on working to improve the balance between the haves and have nots. Very Happy

Always remember that the Labour movement in Great Britain had no 'legs' until the cause was taken up by the 'Champagne Socialists' of the Bloomsbury set. Something that still plagues it to this day.

I like doing photography and go and enter a few competitions when I can. Also been very careful when and how I take my photos and you have to be so careful these days. Yet photographers in the media seem to be able to take pictures like the did with The Duchess of Cambridge and seem to think that is OK.

Anyone else would have been arrested. If she had been photographed in a public place or a public beech then she could not complain. But this was on private property and the press in this case have overstepped the line this time with the royals.
