I think Smallbridge, Wardle and Littleborough are all "Pennine," Keithatrochdale.

Could be a best intention, but a No Win situation for the 'Justs,' as interests cross borders. I cant even find the FreeStuff, but there's a distracting semi-naked figure keeps going across the forum screen. It's a change from being invited to shoot someone, but I've forgotten what I was going to add just now.

The 'home' page gives a full list of topics, easy once you know how

When I click on HOME I get the following;

Rochdale borough-wide chat forum

• Just Castleton
  
• Just Heywood
  
• Just Middleton
  
• Just Littleborough
  
• Just Whitworth
  

No mention of Pennine or anything else.

I then have to click on;

Rochdale borough-wide chat forum

to get topics.

We will keep an eye on it. Most people seem to be preferring to use the general forums. I'm amazed hinch hasn't asked for a 'Just Stradhoughton' forum yet.

Are there any more Wardleites who want one?

I think its got a bit too much on, do we really need all the area forums ?
It appears that a post put on an area forum also appears on the general forum anyway.

I was happy with just the one general forum as it covered every area we don't need all the others do we at the end of the day it's "A Rochdale Borough wide Forum"

I welcome your opinions but we aren't running a democracy here. I like to think of it more as a benign dictatorship!

We'll try the area forums for - say, a month and if there's no take-up then we'll scrap them.

This forum is very much in a 'suck it and see' stage. If it works, we keep it. If it doesn't we won't.

I think it probably makes it a bit messy to be honest but I am aware that people in Heywood and Middleton get a bit fed up of the cover-all term 'Rochdale'.

The word 'borough' was mooted to me by one poster but there are umpteen boroughs in the country and the word in itself means nothing really. There is even one health trust called Five Borough's believe it or not. It could be very confusing. Someone also suggested putting RMBC in the title but not only would the council take serious issue with that but I think we have to make it plain that we are independent and not some offshoot of the Town Hall. That having been said, they are aware of us and no doubt pop on from time to time.

To be honest, I don't want to slavishly follow RO's template too much but as far as the forum went, they pitched it just about right so I don't want to waste too much time reinventing the wheel.

RO is a commercial operation and their focus was quite different. They had to be far more careful about what was allowed and what was not. We are in a different position.

we are but one! Rochdale Area Forum that covers the borough so lets keep it together ?

I will rename the forum 'Borough Bollocks' later on.

Admin is a voluntary post and the complete set up is only through their hard work, it is not for any reward.
I guess its a case of (as Admin said) suck it and see.
RO forum had a number of years to get where it was, dont forget this forum is 2 weeks old!
And I, for one am very happy that we have a forum.
