Regeneration opportunity?
Wonder what the running total is just for compulsory purchases and RMBC buy-outs under their town centre redevelopment plans thus far? FOI request anyone?
Bankrupt club boss jailed for 18 months (÷ 2 = 9 months ‘inside,’ max ) after hiding a £1.2m windfall made from selling his clubs to Rochdale council, for failing to disclose assets held abroad, whilst owing hundreds of thousands of pounds in unpaid taxes.
It has emerged that the Sinclairs had land in St Vran, Brittany as well as two apartments in Murcia, Spain. And, within weeks of being adjudged bankrupt, David Sinclair had splashed out on a 3-hectare landscaped site with its own carp lake, fishing berth and outbuildings surrounded by woodland in St Mayeux, Brittany.
Manchester Crown Court heard Sinclair and his wife Julie sold three clubs to Rochdale council in December 2008 under town centre redevelopment plans.

There is no mention in the report on a 'foreclosure' of their assets by the DofB&E or of any 'criminal seizures' by the fraud squad??? The tax and VAT due is reclaimable from bankrupt assets and whilst the children and mother cannot be made homeless they should at the very least have all 'none essential' family assets removed which were gained from the 'fraud/non-disclosure' ????

Perhaps there's nothing they can do about assets held, for regeneration living, in France and Europe ? !

In the light of 'new' disclosures raised by this man's trial and consequent imprisonment it is incumbent on the 'liquidators' to reassess the man's assets and take possession of all that they can in favour of the creditors i.e. taxman and others.
In the event of a bankruptcy 'all' assets can be siezed and it is up to the 'family' to prove those assets were not his, or owned by him, in order that they are not 'leaned' upon. One might hope that commonsense prevails and that which is 'fair' is levied and the rest realised by the law.
