Zombie Politicians

What is a zombie politician? Those who took notice of Dianne Abbot performing on BBC Question Time will have seen one. A zombie politician is someone who has been in politics far too long, puts on a fine display of habitual and theatrical political gesturing, just as if they are about to say something worthwhile, but, don't.

The body politic continues to function whilst mental process appears to be diminishing to absent.

Ms. Abbots handy waving, air thumping and finger wagging, body shaking, vocal emphases, facial contortions, hairstyle and bright red fingernails are ever larger, more spectacular and grandiose than ever, while the blather and bluster is equally ever more silly. Ms. Abbot isn't the only zombie politician we suffer, but, an outstanding example.

On the vexed question of immigration and the E.U. which took up much of the programme, she did mention that she spends much of her time nowadays helping recent immigrants to bring in their extended families. Whether that was intended to help the argument she was possibly trying to make, or not, was a bit of a puzzle.

I think you said about all there was to say on that performance. In it for the money these days. Working for a Sainthood. No help to the rest of us and couldn't care less anyway.
