But you must realise JohnB that 10 grand when viewed at the wage rates in Rochdale and those down the South East it will appear to those people as a huge amount of money akin almost to 100 grand in relative terms.

They will expect you to put it to good use and employ 10 minimum wagers for twelve months at least. You know - you really do have to get things into perspective old boy. Surprised

No Atlas it does not. £10000 equates very closely to the total costs of employing a person for six months on NATIONAL MINIMUM WAGE. That is WAGE and EMPLOYMENT COSTS. Nothing to do with location - national is national.

I don't know about anyone else, but I feel that is grossly insulting.

I was being sarky JohnB. Of course it is grossy insulting. The south east has grossly insulted the north west and east since time immemorial. So what's new???
