I quite like this new forum it has certainly wakened the old grey matter up and forced me to do something different I nearly gave up but was determined not to be beat and I just love the smilies
But I had better go and do some housework now and get some washing done before the sun disappears

The blackberries and raspberries are the only things that come to 'fruition' this year here. Far too much rain and wind throughout the whole spring and summer seasons. Shattered the tourist trade - worst year in the last 30 years - and the Olympics certainly didn't help either.

Re: I Like it!
I have so many requests for my home made jam that I now put it in those baby food jars, the bigger ones hold about half of the normal jam jar size.
My other specialities are cheese and onion pies and samosas

I tried asking this before but I obviously have not yet mastered the technique. Question to Charly was "Do you make seedless blackberry which I think is called Bramble Jelly"?

Yes I have managed to drop a clanger first time round. I thought it would be seedless. I am in the throes of separating blackberries from their seeds presently, it's a pain in the "you know what" I have not found an easy way of doing it yet.

Are you making the bramble jelly?
How are you de-seeding them?

After the boiling I strain them through a metal sieve, tip the residue into muslim, let it drip for a while usually until its gone cool enough to handle then squeeze to get as much as I can out.

I just push it all through the strainer before adding sugar
