I realise that there ias a lot of interest in this thread and unlike our former Host, we allow external links but can we please these to a sensible number?
The purpose of the forum is to encourage discussion not send people off surfing onto other sites.
The Mods do not want to be heavy handed about this. I think we all get the picture of what is going on out there so please try to keep updates in the form of some sort of ongoing dialogue if possible though we have no problem with anyone naming their sources.
Ta.

Fair enough, admin.
Would you rather a cut and paste job with a reference to the original source?

As long as we all remember that the objective is to promote discussion and debate rather than just regurgitating things that others have written.

Blue cove today, Sat 24th November, as the winds made lovely big waves. No family destroyed today.

Monday 5-30 am Taiji. Well your rough sea dance worked Sparky as there is no hunt today due to big waves and rain, so it's a BLUE cove Keep up the good work.

Re: A new low for the dolphin killers of Taiji
This week has seen more blue than red up to now. Just one part pod caught, and murdered, which took 6 hours of struggle for 7 victims. With the cost of all the fuel burnt they would not have made much money if any. Unfortunately it's yet another family split up. But at least the killers will have made very little money if any, due to the large amount of fuel used.
One day there was another 6 hour battle but the dolphins escaped the butchers, after they again burnt lots of fuel. The other two days including today the killers found no dolphins and so the cove remained blue.
Hopefully the weekend will see the dolphin families left intact.
Last Saturday there was a day of protest by some Japanese people against the dolphin hunts and illegal whale hunts, which in a society not used to protest is excellent.
Also studies have confirmed continued drops in consumption of whale and dolphin meat, so the campaign against the hunts and the highlighting of the dangers of eating mercury laden dolphin meat is having a successful effect.
Hopefully within a few years the killing of dolphins industry will be replaced by eco tourism which has successfully happened in other parts of Japan.

Sounds like some progress is being made, we live in hope!

Indeed Poppyanna, progress is slow but still being made, and the results are there to prove it. Many progressive movements take a long time to succeed, but are worth the struggle.
