A can of worms
In Rochdale Online New Year Comment,
http://www.rochdaleonline.co.uk/news-features/2/news-headlines/76558/new-year-comment
"The public 'war' between Councillor Lambert and MP Simon Danczuk does nothing to help in such difficult times, perhaps Councillor Lambert and Mr Danczuk could put their differences to one side and start to work together for the benefit of the borough."
What is this "war" about? It seems to be more than just between these two men.
Beneath the depressing surface appearance of things there appears to be deeper dysfunctions. If unseen negative logjams are crippling the life, politics and administration of the borough they must be resolved.
Whatever the issues are, they may be many and complex, and it may be unpleasant, bringing them into the light and arguing them to some conclusion, in public, is necessary. Rochdale needs to stop seething under the surface, issues need to be brought out into the open.

Maybe it has, but times have changed. The problems Rochdale has are now a lot more difficult with the economic and other pressures.

Well it is to be hoped that when those pressures 'burst' they become directed at those responsible (in this case the fat-cat troughers and incompetents who are supposed to be 'leading' the town) and not at those who are the easiest and just as innocent targets and by that I mean those of a different culture or colour as so easily happens when things get bad.
