Did anyone see Skint tonight?
I thought the programme on Harpurhey was bad enough but this one based in Scunthorpe certainly took the biscuit (and anything else they could shoplift!)
Effing and jeffing was every other word and one man was bragging about buying stolen food while others were bragging they shoplifted all the time to support their drug addictions.
I wonder if the police will prosecute anyone for buying stolen goods on the strength of the evidence shown in the programme?

If you stir the lees the scum always rises to the surface. Why they should bother portraying dead-legs and scrotes as an example of poverty never ceases to amaze me. Sad

Well Atlas, no doubt this is the sort of thing where some people get their idea of 'people on benefits' from and everyone gets tarred with the same brush

I must confess that I have a morbid fascination for programmes like this. This fascination is, of course, exploited by the programme makers.

Charly makes an excellent point. This plays into the hands of those whose interest it is to portray everyone on benefits to be thieves and parasites. Very dangerous.
