North - South - Divide

The Mayor of London is making it clear he does not want London subsidising the restof the country in any way, and where it is identified, will stop it.

It used to be that London and the 'Restof the country' were in a co-operative mutual inter-connection with each other. Things change, the gap between England and it's old capital city becomes ever wider.

The Mayor of London should first read his history of the City of London before making such ludicrous, unworthy and quite scandalous comments. For in truth there wouldn't be a City of London so richly served or established without the monies that flowed into it from the industrial might of the North and Midlands over the last 2 centuries. London's position (location) made it, by virtue of fortune, ideally situated from the Continent of Europe through which to 'trade' money and goods. Nowerdays it trades mainly 'money'. Due in no small part to the de-industrialisation of the rest of Britain and again its position geographically. Services being its major industry. It's easy to scorn coming from a place that has always been better favoured both by the rich and consequently the ruling governments. Anyone who says London hasn't always had the 'cream' and continues to get/take it is a liar -. Is the Lord mayor of London even aware of how destructive his comments really are. Or is he just stupid?

Is the Mayor of London stupid? No reason to think so. The politics of today doesn't see the need to take the past into account, and self-interest a political virtue. A Mayor of London who puts the economy of London first will seem ideal to Londoners, who probably think, if dim-witted northerners cannot grasp the realities of life, that's their problem.

He who ignores his history is plagued by the same mistakes. London should 'know' better. Ignore the majority and fall foul of consequence. Like I said - the man's an idiot.

Mr.Khan born and brought up in London probably has a London outlook and mindset, totally disinterested in the rest of the UK.
