New killer virus discovered

A virus similar to SARS has been identified after a 49 year old man was brought to London by air ambulance from Qatar.
The news item doesnt mention the mans nationality but (unless he's British of course) why has he been brought here for treatment?
The first known case of this particular virus was the cause of death for a person in Saudi Arabia.

The rationale is, to bring this Quatari man to the UK so this alarming new virus can be studied. Why the UK wants to import the problems of the world, often to the danger and detriment of the people that live here, is a bigger question.

I was thinking more of the threat of the virus spreading to people here.

During the SARS outbreak I was on a trip to India, the usual re-fuelling stop in Bahrain was re-routed to Azerbaijan due to the threat of the virus, and whilst they allowed us off the plane outward, they wouldn't allow us to disembark inward due to the threat of SARS.
Bahrain wasn't allowing planes to refuel there full stop.

Next weeks good news: After being moved to a hospital in the north of England specialising in tropical diseases, the patient has made a remarkable recovery, been granted leave to stay in the country and now has a job selling hot dogs in the Greater Manchester area.

I just hope this latest virus doesnt descend into a scare factor story and how we are all doomed.

Though one day it may happen that a virus will come along and unable to stop it. This does seem to happen now and again but maybe we are overdue. Though we do seem to pull through the plagues we have had in the past. Did they ever find out what the virus was that caused the so called Spanish Flu after the First World War?
