Just dragging myself into the present century by setting up Skype. Not too sure about it. The video can be a bit intrusive but you can always turn it off and just have sound. Trying to install it on my Blackberry Playbook but it's a bit of a nightmare. I see quite a few of you lot are on it. We have a lot of family in Ireland and Canada so I suppose Mrs H might want to use it. Still, if it reduces the phone bills it might be worth it. Mrs H's dad poorly at the moment so the phone bills are a bit high.

We use it at our house, daughter lives in Hampshire, It is cheap. I have a camera stuck on the PC screen and a small microphone. Quality is good and once you have the simple tools it is totally free to talk to and see someone in Heywood or Australia.
One snag is you can get people wanting to talk to you. Best avoided I think.

Ive spoken to my sister in Nebraska on Skype, haven't seen her (in person) in over 40 years

I used it over the weekend. My PC is a bit slow so reception not good. I'll persevere but I do find the video a bit intrusive.

I can't get it on my Blackberry Playbook although there is some sort of generic version but I can't really be fussed.
