Passed first time... oops!
Has anyone read Private Eye yet? Another local gem:-
Rochdale Driving School's website announces that it has an excellent first-time pass rate and, to prove its point, past customers are pictured proudly holding up their certificates.
One of those prominently featured is young Manchester City footballer Courtney Meppen-Walter who, Rochdale Driving School tells prospective drivers, "passed first time"
Could this be the same Courtney Meppen-Walter who was arrested at the beginning of the month on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving after his silver Mercedes was involved in a collision which killed a brother and sister? Alas it could.

They could do with changing the promo pictures, seeing how proud they appear to be of someone who is accused of causing the death of 2 people by the way he drives would be enough to put me off letting my youngsters (if I had any left) learn to drive with them.

and I said
accused of causing the death of 2 people
so Johns comment relates to what?

I have a confession to make.
Failed a driving test because I over took an electric milk float in a dangerous manner on Kingway. Honest.

I passed because I spent half an hour before the test walking round and memorising all the car number plates in view.

Failed three times. On the third test I thought I did my best of all the test and still failed.
On the fourth test I thought it was my worst driving but passed. Thats life I suppose.
