Socialist Workers Party

I was reading in the news media that even the SOCIALIST WORKERS PARTY are involved in a sex scandal cover up, so it is alleged.

There have been reports that some leading member of the party was accused of rape. So the leaders of the party discouraged the girl from reporting the incident to the police and held their own investigation and a court.

According to reports they also threatened the female victim with sanctions and removal from the party if she said anything more about it. The people who investigated the alleged attack and held the so called court just happen to be friends of the alleged sex attacker and found him not guilty.

It has also been alleged there have been other sexual assaults from other male members on female members in the SWP. It also claimed they have tried to cover them up as well and it is reported that members are leaving the SWP because of the alleged sexual assaults. Also splitting the party and tearing itself apart over the issue and doubts about the survival of the SOCIALIST WORKERS PARTY.

If the alleged sexual assaults are true then the female members should bring the attackers to the police and face a proper court of law.

It does seem a lot of the political parties in this country have one huge problem over the years and trying to cover up their mess. Putting the party first before the ones who are the alleged victims.

It does seem the SOCIALIST WORKERS PARTY is just as bad.

I'm sorry teamplayer2 but 'true red' Socialist Workers do NOT indulge in such practices as you have hereto described. I don't know where you got you scandalous information from but I can assure you nothing of the kind would ever take place between the brothers. I suggest you go and wash your mouth out immediately. Yes Atlas it was all over the news the last couple of weeks. There was me thinking over the years that the SWP was the true party that would be free from such scandal and ripe to take over the country one day.

Defenders of equality and the true party to defend the rights of women and men every where.

I thought the SWP workers and the left would come on here to defend their actions and deny the alleged news stories.

Is that to much to ask?

TP you have to realise this site has only 78 members, it is not the 'countrywide, reaches all corners all singing and all dancing site' that is known to everyone and his dog!

Of course they do. But - would they even consider it useful for them to put you in one?? Surely it would serve their purpose better to send you down to the council offices to enquire about the council's 'freedom of information' policy and its ramifications. Guaranteed to send you barmy before lunchtime and get you 'removed' by little men in white coats. Much more permanent.

And therein lies the nub of the matter Hinch. Fiscal will always come before fairness (although alphabetically it shouldn't). To be completely open and transparent and follow the FOI policy would require an office with half a dozen staff, at a minimum, doing nothing else but running themselves ragged at every T.D.& Hinch's beck and call. Not of course that such is a valid excuse to do nothing or to prevaricate - but it is a fact of the present situation.
