Bit of a joke eh?
Some time ago a flat near me was raided, as the police left they put flyers through the doors saying 'we have been active in your area due to reports from neighbours'.
Great stuff!
Neighbours were then targeted for abuse and accusations about 'grassing'
If the police want people to come forward with information I would have thought it better if they then didnt tell the dealers 'your neighbours grassed you up'!

I liked the story from a couple of years ago where West Yorkshire police were using the police helicopter with heat-detecting equipment to identify possible drug farms. They identified one garden shed which was unusually warm, and got the owner out of his work as a classroom assistant to open the shed. What they found was his pet guinea pigs with heaters so that they didn't get too cold through the winter.

Why would anyone need these scratch cards to identify the smell of cannabis for goodness sake! There are so many users on our streets and in our town centres blatantly smoking the stuff these days that there is no mistaking the pungent smell of this drug.

At the risk of becoming the forum pedant just a couple of observations.
I, as a law abiding citizen of this fair borough, feel it my duty to give information to the police to aid them in their enforcement of the law. It does not , in my opinion, mean that I am a ‘grass’. I understand this term is usually used by non law abiding folk to describe fellow non law abiders and should not be confused with legitimate sharing of criminal doings.
Poppy. I think the scratch cards are the odour of growing cannabis plants not the fumes given off by those, in the subway leading to Asda for instance, who feel in a spirit of community that their ganja, skunk, weed, (please fill in with further slang), fumes is suitable for myself and Matron to sample. Funny thing is if Lewis is with me the air seems a lot fresher, can’t think why that is. By the way the plants resemble tomato plants and give off a ‘musty’ smell similar to tomato leaves. Don’t know where Matron gets this street wise info from. Oh yes I do the police told us at our local Castleton forum, good innit? Another good place to meet our local law officers is at the ‘PACT’ meetings, anyone been to one?
Hinch i'll be in the usual den around 3.30 tomorrow, you owe me 2 pints.

You're right Salty, I thought about this after I had posted and realised it would be the 'unsmoked' smell on the cards and so I am glad to have been enlightened by your good self as to what I should be 'sniffing out'!
Funnily enough, I have the same 'clean air' smell when walking my staffie too so I get your drift.....pardon the pun!
And yes, I have been to several PACT meetings over the years, got a bit bored with 'em now.
