No doubt a ”full English" would be out of the question.

Re: Racist breakfast?
A full English will not be out of the question. Same if I go to a Chinese take-a-way of if I go to an Indian restaurant or any other nationality. I will have what I want to eat but I should not have to worry about any national meal and what I ask for.
In fact a lot of restaurants have multi choice menu anyway now.

Re: Racist breakfast?
It must be very distressing for Mr. Hunt to lose a job he was otherwise well qualified and suited for, simply because he was not up to speed with cultural awareness.
Do jobcentres run courses on cultural awareness and sharia compliance for jobseekers?

I suppose asking for some Daddies Brown Sauce could end up with you being labelled sexist, homophobic, racist as well as making crude sexual overtures.

This one is easy. We simply boycott Reeds until they employ appropriate consultants.
Don't forget, they collect up to 20% of your salary from an employer so treat the, with the contempt they deserve.

Re: Racist breakfast?
Mr Hunt describes the lady recruitment consultant he met as 'of asian appearance'. It seems likely he was thinking about the information technology job he was hoping to be doing, religious customs about foodstuffs might not have been at the front of his mind.
'Of asian appearance' could be Muslim, Hindu, Christian, secular or Bahai, or any other persuasion. Professionals who deal with people could consider telling interviewees if they have particular religious sensitivities, rather than just expecting them to know, then throwing the book at them.
As it turns out, Muslims are very averse to pork fat. The British found this out during the Indian Rebellion of 1857. When Muslim soldiers in the British army were issued with bullets greased with pork fat, they could not tolerate it, and mutinied.

Re: Racist breakfast?
Interestingly, the lady concerned sometimes uses 'Bella' as a middle name.
Seems to have a high opinion of herself. It means 'beautiful' in Italian of course.

It's a strange co-incidence that, including the 'Bella', the offended lady's name is an anagram of 'A reliable Sharia snack'.

Re: Racist breakfast?
I know working in care over the years you have to be careful about the people you care for. Get to know the person and find out about culture and religious beliefs. Likes and dislikes etc.
But the man was at an interview and was quite relaxed and pleased when he got the job. You cannot be a saint all the time and people do slip up. Did they not take his background and culture into account and just pointed out to him what he had said. I am sure if they had pointed it out to him I am sure he would corrected it without all the problems that have happened. How many times have we been asked about what we wanted from a canteen in work whiles out for a break.
Shouting back across the room get us a bacon or sausage bap or whatever. We would all be told off.

Re: Racist breakfast?
It would be interesting to know who did get the job working on I.T. systems for the N.H.S., that Mr. Hunt was going to get, until he offered to buy breakfast. It's an important job, those N.H.S. computer systems need a lot of work doing on them.

Be careful Mojo. This casual use of the word 'hog' is bordering on racism. In future, when referring to porcine matters, please refer to them as 'the P word' so as not to cause offence.
Re: Racist breakfast?
We had a call from a Daily Mail reporter who insisted that this lady was our next door neighbour. She isn't but does live further down the street.
When my son convinced him that she didn't, the reporter asked him what he could do next? When iIt was suggested that he goes to the house and knocks on the door, he replied 'I can't I'm in London'. There's nothing like a good bit of investigative journalism to dig out all the facts is there?

Re: Racist breakfast?
Perhaps the conversation could have gone like this?
Reporter "What can I do next?"
Mr. Dale "Go to her house and knock on the door."
Reporter "I can't, I'm in London."
Mr. Dale "Well, tell you what, I could go and knock on her door, take my digital camera, get a few quotes and photos, would that help?
Reporter "That would be brilliant, can you email them on to me."
Mr. Dale "Yes of course and that will save you a lot of time, train fare, hotel bill etc. if the photos and quotes are good, what can you pay?"
Reporter "I can give you something, would £1,000 be enough?"
Mr. Dale "Well, normally I wouldn't like to bother my neighbors, but for a thousand pounds, ok."
Reporter "look forward to hearing from you."

I just hope that Mrs DaleLad keeps the kitchen window closed when cooking the b*con rashers and p*rk sausages on Sunday morning to avoid causing unnecessary hurt and distress.

If anyone was going to be offended by us cooking various parts of p*gs with an open kitchen window, we'd have been in trouble years ago!
