Hiding your light under a bushel... NOT!
I received the following PM from Teamplayer2 this morning. Normally I would not reprint a PM but this one, I feel, merits special attention:-
Hello
My wife while she was having a quick look at the post on here. She was asking about the food parcel we donated to the Homeless cause in Rochdale a couple of years back. The collection of food you donated to the charity, my wife mentioned we never got any acknowledgement or any thank you about it.
TP.
TP. You were thanked several times on the RO forums which were then still in existence. You were also thanked publicly on the night of the meeting at the Woolworths Club and had your photo taken presenting your gift to the committee which, if I recall consisted of bottled water and confectionery with an estimated value of about £10- £15.
When the planned 'Chill-Out'' protest was called off, I contacted you with regard to your wishes about the items and you agreed that I could pass them on to the charity on Drake Street that you refer to.
This I did and told you that I had done so by email. I also told the charity how and why we were passing these items on along with some other items that had been given. They were grateful and thankful.
Clearly all this gratitude is insufficient. Would you like me to take a full size advertisement on RO or in the paper ensuring that your generosity is made known to a wider audience? Why not hire yourself a publicist?
I accept that not everyone who gives to charity does so privately and quietly without expecting a fanfare of trumpets. You presumably feel differently?

Can we remind all forum-users that the Private Message facility is provided as a service to help members interact and exchange information such as addresses, phone numbers etc and not to initiate or continue private spats. We will withdraw this facility if it is abused. Hinch and Teamplayer2 take note.

Whilst I fully understand the use and misuse of the PM facility I agree with Hinch making this message public. Past dealings with certain members on here leave me wondering what motive, if motive there is, makes someone send what on other forums would be described as ‘Flaming’. I speak as one who kept my turn at receiving little disguised insults in another place private. You know who you are “Friend”.
Never has the below been more appropriate (sic).

If you're not interested, why raise it in the first place?Hinch wrote:Latest PM sent this morning from Teamplayer2:-

I can't believe that you have sat out there for almost two years mulling this one over. You need to get out more.
