UK Deportation Policy
UK deportation policy is 'pants'.
Private soldier Filimone Lacanivalu, a Fijian who served with the British army in Northern Ireland, Bosnia, Falklands and Afghanistan, with 2nd Battalion Yorkshire Regiment, is now being held in a UK Border Agency immigration removal centre at Heathrow, awaiting deportation, because he was late with some paperwork.
And another one that must go, http://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/news/liverpool-news/merseyside-mum-faces-prospect-losing-6298518

Mmm, yet another Daily Fail story. He left the Forces 3 ¾ years ago and, due to his past service with the Army, his case is now under review. It wasn’t just any old ‘some’ paperwork …. he missed the application timescale for British residency.

Yes we know the media can spin a yarn, but it is fairly obvious that UK deportation policy is a shambles.
