Austerity or Anti-austerity policies?
Austerity policies brought in after the banking collapse helped stabilise the economy, but at the cost of social and regional imbalance.
If austerity policies continue without recognising that imbalance, and finding a way to even it out, will the anti-austerity movement pick up sufficient momentum to shiver the timbers?
Ha-har Jim lad.

The safest route is always the middle road. Feed that which can produce the goods and cut back that which bleeds the war chest. Therefore - both is the answer. It's a question of balance, investing in the right things and cutting out the crap. Some will suffer - usually the less well equipped. But that's where my social Darwinism comes in. I happen to believe it is the only rational route through. It's perhaps as well that the majority are not too badly off as to make that possible. Otherwise we would end up like the Yemen.
