Lost memories
Have to say that one of the most enjoyable types of thread on RO were from old f*rts like myself, Ray and JeanneP swapping memories of bygone Rochdale.
So much fabulous folk history; the Chambers Club, the building of the M62, stories from the old cotton mills, JeanneP's tales of the old market traders and reminiscences of pubs long gone.
Such a great pity that so many wonderful posts simply disappeared when RO pulled the plug on the forums. I hope that some local historian or someone down at Touchstones recognised the value of these and saved them. I'm sure many of these memories would be of great value to an historian of the future.
Memories are like this week's Special Offer in the supermarket; when they're gone, they're gone.
Say what you like about nostagia but it ain't what it used to be.
