The Great British Cyclepath

Almost every day we hear of fatal collisions between lorries, bicycles and pedestrians, isn't it time an extensive network of practical cyclepaths was put in place.

With the clutter already inundating our towns and cities it would be extremely expensive and disruptive to attempt to segregate the two wheeled scutterer from the four wheeled assassins. I would suggest it makes eminently more sense to shoot all the cyclists. However - as this might find some opposition it makes even more sense to change as rapidly as possible to self-drive vehicles (and I don't mean the 'hired' variety) which would remove the 'human' stupidity aspects and allow the cyclist to continue in a more safe mode killing themselves if need be. We chose our destiny decades ago when we moved away from the bicycle into the car and made no provision for the lone cyclist and his mates. You can't turn the clock back but you can speed up the 'known' technology.
