Strange encounter today. Some guy from the local Labour Party knocked at my door and asked me if I would consider standing for the party in the Lancashire County Council elections in May. He said I was articulate and wrote well and I would be the ideal choice for the punters of Stradhoughton.

I listened to him seriously before pointing out the two large Official Monster Loony Party button-badges I was wearing and told him of my change of allegience.

He went away quite crestfallen thinking no doubt that I had just lost my mind.

In reality, I have just found it.

It does feel like that at times Irish.

Great not being a member of the LP. Very liberating.

Voted for the new Dibble-Commissioner today and did not feel obliged to put my X in any particular box.

Just read the pitches and marked off the one least likely to make a mess of it.

Time will tell if I got it right.
