Re: Forum layout
Not mad on the colours Admin as I find the text difficult to read. Hope you take this as positive criticism rather than of the negative, carping variety so favoured by others.

Re: Forum layout
Bit hard to read to be honest.
The colours are too light. 'Specially on the text when replying.
Needs to be a darker stronger colour, too similar to the main part of the forum page layout.

Admin: Thanks a lot for the 'Happy Spring' Header and time-interest taken.
If at all possible, could do with a darker colour for any other script ...squinting

Re: Forum layout
Have just spent an hour on it and haven't found it to be difficult in any shape or form. I suspect the colouring has more to do with the time of year (seasonal) and that as we progress into Summer and Autumn it will change to suit the requirement. As an aside - the colouring as presented and according to the experts is high up in the listings to promote calm and tranquility whilst being restfull on the eyes and thus attractive to the reader.
The forum may be interested to know (or not as the case may be) that the same colouring with added sun-burst orange has been picked for my leaflets this year (we had the same last year) which we found to attract more 'take-up' within the tourists coming to the area. Colour is important if you wish to sell anything. I assume the forum admin have taken that on board in this instance - ergo - the present format.

Re: Forum layout
Thanks. Points noted. I too am struggling a bit to be honest.
As to the 'rubbish' comment, I would remind you that I and the three Mods do this stuff in our own time so whilst you are welcome to your opinions, we would appreciate it if you would try to phrase them in a less confrontational manner.
No need for it.

Re: Forum layout
I am not bothered about the colour but am struggling to define it, off pea green is about my best shot.

Re: Forum layout
It's difficult to read, might be better if the writing is darker, like this?

It's the brightest thing I've seen since the sun was last out. Sometime in November I think.

Re: Forum layout
Yes, that looks better. There are over 400 'skins' to choose from but most of them are designed on various gaming or teenage girlie themes.
I could design my own but have neither the time nor aptitude. Head is full of cotton wool and am on antibiotics so am a particularly grumpy Idi Admin at the moment.
I will studiously avoid any skins showing 'our wonderful town hall' though a nice photo of Healey Dell or the Lake might be useful.
Thanks for your positive input.

Re: Forum layout
Right, I want a nice photo or logo to illustrate the page. No boring shots of Town Hall, Co-op Museum etc. Theme must be something to do with Rochdale but no burst bin-bags, homeless people or Cyril Smith connotations.
Should be copyright-free or have permission of owner to reproduce.

That's much better thank you
As for a logo how about the clock tower Birch Hill now that all the services have gone ? or a barge on the Rochdale Canal !
Why not have a competition for the best local photo

I'm still getting the "Merry Christmas" hover on the main board? Any chance you could go back to the original settings?

Re: Forum layout
We could do with a snappy, Rochdale Talk logo but don't ask me to design one as I'm not very artistic.
