That doesn't seem so bad to me. It wouldn't be the first time rubbish separated for recycling all got put together for landfill.

Looks like RMBC realised they had got themselves into a mess and took a practical decision to clear it up.

Weren't the council toying with the idea of fining residents if they put the wrong items into the wrong recycling bins?...

So the council tried to save some money due to government cutbacks, it didn't quite work as expected and they won't be doing it again. Hardly a farce in my book.

Yes but DL, the council is Labour and Jeanie is a former Lib Dem now Tory so of course it's a farce.

Still wearing the party colours though and the neighbours are still cornering her about their bin problems.

Could she be planning a comeback? If so, she needs to choose her next party with care.

Yes 'cos most have them havent woken up yet and expect everything done for them...as always!

I could never be a councillor. I don't care enough. There's a chance I'd get abusive if someone came round to my house bothering me about bins.
I worked with a bloke who told me he's been onto Norman Smith at 10pm one night because his water pipe had burst in his back garden. What he wanted Norman to do at that time of night I don't know. Just as easy to ring an emergency number as a councillor.

Same here DL. A bloke came the door a few weeks ago and asked me to consider standing for Lancashire County Council. I thought about it for 5 nanoseconds then sent him packing.

Sorting out someone's leaky ballcock problem at 2am? Not me!
