Royal Mail ?
So what are your thoughts on privatising the Royal Mail ?

Re: Royal Mail ?
I have grave doubts about the privatisation of such a 'service'. Regardless of all its many faults there does still seem to be a culture of 'service' of which it can be rightly proud. For profit (and I do mean 'profit') organisations put the customer second in their bid for success, the first being themselves and their shareholders and as such will not have that 'ethos' nor can it be acquired in anything like the same way.
I daresay the majority of customers who live in close knit proximities will see no difference but I doubt the same will not apply with rural climes. If it's going to be the same as the 'broadband' fiasco and the natural gas and other services then a quarter of the population can look forward to a much reduced letter service should such come about.

Agree with Jeanie. The service wil get worse (wores than it is now).
I predict postal chaos. Parcels going missing etc.

Re: Royal Mail ?
A privatisation too far. I predict a massive increase in junk mail. Am not remotely reassured by pledges to maintain levels of service.
I predict that some people in rural areas will be lucky to get a twice weekly delivery.
I will not be buying any shares.

It's currently not bad. All my bills seem to arrive promptly.Chill37 wrote:Agree with Jeanie. The service wil get worse (wores than it is now).

Parcels seldom go missing from other suppliers like UK Mail or DHL. Not sure why the Royal Mail would be any different. I'm with Hinch on this one. I can see the profitable parts kept, with prices rising, and the less profitable areas sold off. Whatever happens, the Tory's city mates will do well.

I just hope that the Tories friends in the City will remember their benefactors when it comes to upping their contributions to the Party. After all, we're all in this lucrative pot together.
