TROUBLE IN Milnrow!
My wife has just told me on the phone that there are police cars and an ambulance outside the old bank facing the Co-Op in Milnrow. Nearthe old Dale Mill. All taped off by the police. Looks serious. Any idea what is going on?

Am not currently working for Rochdale Online due to my ongoing health issues TP but I'm sure someone will pick this up.

I see the tale got in the Rochdale Observer website. Turns out it may have been a parcel has been found and the staff called the police.

Perhaps there was a job going for grabs - and a few of the applicants got killed in the rush??? Well it could happen! - Whoops - Is it a pig? Is it a Plane - -?

Re: TROUBLE IN Milnrow!
Maybe its me being very old fashioned- but I don't find this incident to be funny. A few applicants got killed in the rush?! Don't get me wrong I enjoy a laugh as much as the next person. But to make a joke referring to people getting killed? I will pass.Atlas wrote:Perhaps there was a job going for grabs - and a few of the applicants got killed in the rush??? I think Chill37 you need to 'chill out'. Old fashioned would have worded it a darn sight more 'near the bone' than I did. What you mean to say is 'your sense of humour has escaped you'. Then - go look for it - NOW.
Lose that and everything - EVERYTHING - is superflous in this world. The humour wasn't 'people getting killed' it was 'a job in the offering'. Get it? Job? Rochdale? Today? - Jeez. (Or are you just trying to wind me up?)

Re: TROUBLE IN Milnrow!
Firstly Im not winding you up or anyone for that matter. People who know me on here and RO and FB know I never ever wind anyone up. Feel free to call me old fashioned(been called a lot worse in my time). As I said I have a very strong sense of humour but maybe my old fashionedness came into being when i did not smile about perhaps people getting killed because of job vacancys as the reason for the alert in Milnrow.Atlas wrote:I think Chill37 you need to 'chill out'. So its clear my sense of humour is different to yours- I fully respect that- but please dont think or implie I'm winding you up. Just in a serious issue like this, thankfully nothing more occured, a joke of your liking wasnt really needed. But its a free forum after all.

Re: TROUBLE IN Milnrow!
But speaking of jobs in Milnrow I read that a supermarket chain is opening up in Milnrow providing 25 new and very welcomed jobs.

No they just open another store to create jobs. Then take the business away from other stores to lose jobs.

Hardly surprising when you have nincompoops and a lack of joined up thinking in your midsts.

Re: TROUBLE IN Milnrow!
Well to be fair theres not really that many shops in Milnrow. I think there is more Hairdressers than anything! Few good independent quality shops that I use. But not so much in the way of choice. Co-op is too damn expensive. So I welcome more choice. Plus the area where Aldi is to be built the company there will get a nice new building instead of the old buildings they have now.teamplayer2 wrote:No they just open another store to create jobs. Just hope the traffic management is up to scratch as that area does tend to get a bit gridlocked.
